Located in a Roman suburb, the project area is an abandoned green space adjacent to a local football club, positioned between the urban residential district to the northeast and the Parco di Torre Fiscale to the southwest.
Tuscolano Multisport is not only an architectural intervention but also an urban one. The project replaces the existing football club with a multifunctional sports facility, introducing new programs for the local community while simultaneously upgrading the facilities dedicated to the original club. The open space strategy preserves most of the existing greenery and introduces a boulevard that acts as a connective spine between the urban fabric and the previously inaccessible park.
The building’s triangular footprint is articulated as a sequence of rectangular volumes of varying lengths. This configuration responds to the geometry of the site: the façade facing the football field functions as a rigid yet permeable edge, while the segmented façade along the boulevard visually guides pedestrians toward the park.
